For Harold Simpson, there is no better way to celebrate his heritage and connection to his ancestral lands than sharing his deep love and appreciation for the famed Monument Valley, Utah area. As the founder, owner and operator of Monument Valley Simpson’s Trailhandler Tours, he meets and shares with his experiences growing up in this astoundingly beautiful landscape with curious travelers from all over the world. Not only is his knowledge of the region due to his studies, but it is knowledge passed down from generations of his Navajo culture. Mr. Simpson grew up in Monument Valley, playing among the iconic rock structures and learning the culture, traditions and heritage of his Dineh (Navajo) people.
With his tour company, Mr. Simpson delivers on an all-encompassing and engaging experience with fellow native tour guides. The tours include overnight experiences and 4×4 tours and are fit for every level of traveler. These tours are once in a lifetime experiences and the company has received TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence. Mr. Simpson’s family history is long rooted in Monument Valley, in fact, his Great-great grandfather, Mr. Grey Whiskers, has a rock structure named after him. He instilled in his family the importance of respecting what is often considered the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World.’ In addition to running the daily operations of the company, Mr. Simpson volunteers for Reaching the Summit.
